Los olvidados is Patrick Hamilton’s new solo exhibition that will open on September 21 at the Casal Solleric in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain.

“I understood from a very young age that art is more than a technique or the mastery of a discipline, I understood that it is a vehicle, a tool to make social or cultural criticism,” Patrick Hamilton says with certainty as he explains the background of his works. This view prompted him to start creating works that “question, criticize or emphasize the relationship between art, economics and politics” from different angles: theoretical, conceptual, metaphorical, material, architectural and environmental. All to understand the Chile in which he grew up in an integral way.

His original works have not only helped him to answer many of the questions he had in mind, but have also allowed him to position himself as one of the Chileans with the greatest presence in the international art scene. Throughout his career, he has exhibited in key contemporary art fairs and biennials and has had his works included in more than one hundred public and private collections, including Jumex in Mexico; Museo Reina Sofia, Spain; El Museo del Barrio in New York, the Izolyatsia Foundation in Ukraine, DKM Museum in Duisburg, Germany, The Space Collection and the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), USA.
