WALDO BALART

Paysage Géométrique is Waldo Balart’s first solo exhibition at Galerie Bendana Pinel, Paris in collaboration with Casado Santapau Gallery, more than fifty years after his introduction to the Parisian art scene by Galerie Iris Clert in 1967, an important post-war gallery.

May 13 – July 29

The exhibition Paysage Géométrique is determined by the idea of Versailles gardens in which nature is expressed in the order of its components and its ultimate meaning is the explosion of colors.

The works, which the artist calls “propositions”, offer an original and unique plastic solution, in which linear rhythms, chromatic energy currents and forms compose geometric landscapes that only make sense in themselves. It is the absence of interpretative references alien to the reality of the work that, executed by means of mathematical rules, Balart’s invention, link his work to concrete art.
